Code of Conduct
Everyone who works with, volunteers for, or partners with Future Societies for Africa represents our mission. This code sets the standard of behavior we expect, and the accountability we promise.
Who this covers
All staff, volunteers, interns, consultants, board members, and implementing partners, in every program location and online.
How we behave
We treat every person with dignity and respect. We are honest in our work, careful stewards of donor funds, and culturally sensitive guests in the communities we serve.
Zero tolerance
Sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment of any kind, discrimination, fraud, theft, and any harm to children or vulnerable adults lead to immediate investigation and disciplinary action, including dismissal and referral to authorities.
Safeguarding
The safety of children and vulnerable adults comes first. Never be alone with a child out of sight of others, never exchange personal contacts or gifts, and report any concern immediately, even if you are unsure.
Speaking up
Report concerns in confidence through your supervisor or the contact channels listed on this site. Retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith is itself a violation of this code.
