About Future Societies for Africa
Future Societies for Africa is a pan-African, non-profit development organization. We design and run community programs that help people build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable societies.

Our vision
A healthy, resilient and sustainable African society where communities thrive through quality education, sustainable agriculture, innovation, inclusion, environmental stewardship and responsible technology, now and for generations to come.
Our mission
To build healthy, sustainable African societies through education, sustainable agriculture, mental health, environmental protection and inclusive community services for youth, women and vulnerable groups, leaving no one behind.

- Diversity, Inclusion & Non-Discrimination
- Integrity, Transparency & Honesty
- Accountability & Ethical Leadership
- Excellence, Quality & Results
- Reflection, Learning & Continuous Growth
- Creativity, Innovation & Transformative Thinking
- Sustainability, Stewardship & Shared Prosperity
Our initiatives
From Ilala, Dar es Salaam, we work with children, youth, women, and elders across Tanzania through five initiatives. Each initiative has one job, and each one answers a single question: is daily life getting better?
Mind and Health Care Initiative
Counselling and basic community care, mostly for youth and women, with follow-up to see whether daily life feels better after support ends.
Environments and Green Technology Initiative
Tree care, clean stoves, and small tools that cut costs and protect land, and we check back after six months to see which homes still use them.
Information System and Technology Initiative
Phone and computer skills for study and work, plus staying safe online, and months later we see who still uses what they learned.
Quality Education Initiative
Reading, catch-up lessons, and trade skills, and we follow learners to see who returns to school or moves into work.
Sustainable Agriculture Initiative
Better seed, soil care, and storage with farming homes, and each season we review harvests, food stores, and farm earnings together.
Stories of change
Farmers, graduates, and trainees across Tanzania tell what changed.

“I don't worry about the season anymore. The harvest feeds us and pays school fees.”

Zainabu Mussa, Tailoring graduate
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
“I can create my own income rather than waiting for employment. I know how to start and manage a business and how to look for resources.”

Baraka Shija, Solar trainee
Mwanza, Tanzania
“I have learned to install and repair the solar panels that run our irrigation pump. The pump used to sit idle when we had no money for diesel. Now it runs on solar power, and the vegetables get water every day.”
